Spiritual Healing

Spiritual Healing is the channeling of Energy from Source (Creator of all that is) to the person so that he or she may receive a healing boost and work to recover from illness, injury or other forms of distress. The Spiritual Healer uses their palms to channel energy. The healer becomes a vessel/conduit of Source Energy. This technique rebalances and works to tune the body’s ‘energies’ and create equilibrium allowing it to function at a more stable level. The key to this modality is that you don’t have to believe in the process for the body to pick up the Source Energy and speed up the healing recovery.

Spiritual Healing does not require that you follow any particular type of religious denomination. This form of healing is non-invasive. Healing sessions require that the client be comfortably seated or lying flat on an energy healing table. The choice is given to the client and this procedure does not require hands on contact. There is no speaking during the treatment as the healer is intuitively focused on the clients’ energy blockages.
Contact Healing
As You Prepare to Receive a Healing:
Place your feet on the floor and your hands on your lap - open to receive.
Relax and open your heart to receive healing.
Quiet your mind and listen to the music and let go.
Give yourself permission to receive the renewal of healing. Be receptive.
Ask in the silence of your heart for the healing to occur. You can ask in the name of another person or condition.
Trust in the love and power of Spirit.
Expect God and respect the process.
Accept the healing in love and gratitude.
Know that all healing goes with you and continues.
Absent Healing
Absent healing is basically sending spiritual energy to someone.
The general idea with working with absent healing is that regardless of space and time, energy can go anywhere, including the past and the future. If someone is half way around the world you can still work healing on them by directing your energy, charged with your intent, and have it work on them just as though they were present in your own room.

Healing Temple
You may place the name of someone you wish to send a “Healing” to into our Healing Temple located within our Sanctuary. You may write a prayer/intention as well as a name. A few times a year a ceremony is performed for all pieces of paper placed into the Healing Temple, where a final blessing is said for each name placed and then all the paper is burned and buried.
Healing Etiquette
Spiritual Healing is a quiet service so we ask that you respect the peace of others and refrain from talking.
Seek Medical Advice
Spiritual healing is a complementary therapy, not an alternative therapy. This means that it is meant to be used in addition to appropriate conventional medical help, and not instead of it. Spiritual healers should always advise their patients of this, and should of course never guarantee a cure.

Spiritual healing is the gift of God’s love to humanity that brings about harmony, health and well-being. Mediums that serve as spiritual healers render the greatest service offered in Spiritualism and exemplify the highest aspects of mediumship.

Spiritual healing has been part of Spiritualism since the beginning of the movement in the mid 1800’s. There are many methods of healing today. Spiritual healing differs from other forms of healing in that the spiritual healer is attuned to his/her healing guides when he channels God’s healing force to a person in need. God is the source of all healing. In other healing modalities, including magnetic healing, the healer transmits his/her own healing energies to the recipient, often feeling depleted after the healing is completed. Harry Edwards was a well-known spiritual healer. He dedicated his life to this work and opened a healing sanctuary in Surrey, England. He was also one of the founders of the National Federation of Spiritual Healers (NFSH), an organization that to this day teaches healing courses of the highest standards.
Spiritual Healing is God’s healing power intelligently directed to the specific needs of the recipient. Since these needs are often unknown to the healer, it is reasonable to assume that the directing intelligence is Spirit.
Amazing cures have been known to occur through spiritual healing, some over time and others instantaneously. In other cases, healing is not effective for reasons known only to God.

The purpose of spiritual healing is to help the person receiving it to reconnect with his or her spirit – our true self that continues beyond earthly life. Knowledge of our immortality inspires us to live rightly according to God’s laws for the benefit of all.

Silver Birch, the wise Spirit Teacher, said of spiritual healing:
“The technique is really simple, though the effects are profound. You have a sufferer, a healer and you have the Great Spirit. All that happens is that divine power, part of the Great Spirit, part of the life-force, has to be transmitted through the healer’s spiritual faculties to the sufferer’s spirit body. This is in essence, the whole process. There is no secret, there is no magic; there is just the operation of natural law."

The power of the Spirit is infinite.

Spiritual healing is practised in all Spiritualist churches by the laying-on of hands or contact healing. For the person receiving it, it is a profound experience that brings about mental, emotional as well as physical relief with the feeling of receiving unconditional love and the sense of great inner peace. Healing mediums also dedicate time to sending absent or distant healing to people who are in need but unable to be present at the time.
Spiritualism fully supports the medical profession and considers spiritual healing as a complementary rather than a substitute treatment.
